GiftsNC (Giving and Getting Information for Special Needs Children), in Cary, North Carolina, outside Raleigh.
GIFTSNC, an organization for parents homeschooling children with a variety of special needs, also has a large, helpful Yahoo! group you may join, wherever you live.
Though based in North Carolina, their on-line community has nearly 500 members from across the country.
Nearly 300 families attended. Kathy spoke on "Staying Sane" and "Attitudes and Assumptions" and also appeared on a panel for homeschooling through high school.
- July 10-12, 2008, Autism Society of America's 39th National Conference, Orlando, Florida, "Homeschooling Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders."
"This is the largest gathering of people with autism, families and professionals with over 200 sessions and 150 exhibitors."
- March 20, 2008, to Mom's Night Out, a support group in Round Hill, in western Loudoun County, Virginia. Past, present and future homeschoolers are welcome.
